WORKING WITH THE SWAROVSKI FOUNDATION TO HELP SUPPORT WOMEN SURVIVORS OF WAR
We are so grateful to have been in a long-standing partnership with the Swarovski Foundation for the past eight years. Since 2014, they have invested where inequality is greatest by helping women who are forgotten – the women survivors of war and conflict. Thanks to the Swarovski Foundation, over 1,000 women in rural Nigeria have been able to form support networks, learn to earn an income and save money, and gain knowledge and resources about health and their rights.
In August 2021, the Swarovski Foundation continued its support through a generous donation towards our Afghanistan Response Appeal. With their partnership, Women for Women International was able to maintain connections with women in our programmes, reopen offices in several locations and provide urgent assistance and resources for women and their families to sustain their own income.
Over the years, the Swarovski Foundation has supported our fundraising events through sponsorship, providing auction items and goody bags. The Swarovski Foundation sponsored our high-profile Catwalk Show and Auction in November 2014 and our #SheInspiresMe Lunch in June 2016. Since 2018, the Swarovski Foundation has participated in our annual one-of-a-kind fashion extravaganza, the #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale and Virtual Car Boot Sales, which have raised vital funds to support women survivors of war.
About the Swarovski Foundation
The Swarovski Foundation was set up in 2013 to honour the philanthropic spirit of Daniel Swarovski, who founded the crystal business over 125 years ago in the Tyrolean Alps. It reinforces the company's commitment to philanthropy and charitable giving and has a mission to build on this heritage by supporting charitable initiatives and organisations working in three areas: fostering culture and creativity, promoting human empowerment and preserving the environment.
The Swarovski Foundation provides grants to global charity organisations to: increase access to the creative industry through education, jobs, innovation and sustainable economic growth; increase youth and gender rights through education and empowerment programmes; increase the protection of water and biodiversity through education and climate change mitigation and seeks to bring structure and good governance to all philanthropic projects to ensure positive and long-lasting social impact.
