Supporter Spotlight: Seven Kings School🌟
In July 2025, students at Seven Kings School came together to host a powerful week of events in support of Women for Women International, raising £700 to support women survivors of war.
From a striking installation honouring victims of gender-based violence, to a moving panel discussion and a celebratory Polaroid exhibition, the week was filled with creativity, courage and compassion - and led entirely by students.
We’re constantly inspired by the next generation of changemakers, and this campaign was a perfect example of young people using their voices and leadership to create real impact.
We asked Wania, who led the fundraising team and helped shape the week, to reflect on what inspired her and what the experience meant to her.
Here’s what she had to say:

When I first set out to fundraise for Women for Women International, I knew I wanted to take on something meaningful, ambitious and empowering - not only for myself, but for the women this incredible organisation supports.
As the leader of the fundraising team for our school’s social action project, I was especially proud that we had chosen “women” as our theme for the year - something I felt was long overdue. This cause has always held deep personal significance to me, so I was committed to finding a charity that not only supported women, but also made a tangible, lasting difference in their lives.
Motivated by their mission, I reached out to the charity. Their response was swift and welcoming - their team was incredibly kind and encouraging throughout.
We arranged a meeting to share our school’s three main goals for the project:
-
Challenge: To confront and reshape attitudes, assumptions and stereotypes, encouraging a more holistic worldview of our community.
-
Connection: To bring people together through an inclusive, thoughtful platform that welcomes diverse voices.
-
Celebration: To create a joyful space that honors womanhood - highlighting specific individuals, movements or even communities that deserve recognition.
Women for Women International warmly embraced our vision and gladly offered their support. Together, we developed and refined three key initiatives:
-
Challenge: A live installation of 95 handbags, representing the 95 women that were killed by men in the UK last year - a striking and emotional visual to confront the narrative/reality of gender-based violence.
-
Connection: A live panel discussion that involved women from various backgrounds who shared their personal stories of womanhood with an audience of Year 12 students and selected younger attendees.
-
Celebration: A permanent Polaroid exhibition showcasing portraits of all the women in our school, highlighting their individuality and achievements.

These events were a tremendous success and far exceeded our expectations. The handbag installation in particular, left a profound impact. The raw symbolism in this event sparked uncomfortable, but necessary conversations, and several attendees described it as both relieving and unforgettable.
The panel discussion also became another ‘standout’ moment - hearing women speak courageously about their personal experiences, helped cultivate a deeper empathy and understanding among the students.
Finally, the Polaroid wall turned into a strong symbol of pride and unity; it was invigorating to experience students pause, smile and truly appreciate each other’s identities and achievements within our school.
Our entire campaign exceeded our goals. It challenged perceptions, helped foster a genuine connection and honored womanhood in all forms.
What made this campaign truly rewarding was witnessing a ripple effect firsthand. Students engaged in meaningful conversations regarding gender based violence, equality and empowerment.
That impact alone was deeply fulfilling on both our entire school culture and the women this organisation supports.

This experience was both eye opening and transformative. It taught me that a meaningful movement begins with a single idea that is shared amongst people who care and have a similar vision. Leading this project helped me grow as a leader and intensified my passion for gender justice. I am already brainstorming on how we can make similar, future events that are even more impactful and inclusive.
If I could give one piece of advice to anyone considering something similar: just start. Do not wait for the ‘right’ time or the fear of judgment hold you back. Critics will always be present, but what matters more is taking a stand for something meaningful.
Be confident. Trust yourself. I guarantee you will be amazed at what is possible and how many people will take the same stand with you.
I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Women for Women International and help amplify their cause. To me, this is only the start. To anyone considering getting involved - whether through fundraising, volunteering or simply spreading the word - know that your voice matters much more than you think.
Thank you to Women for Women international, for the life changing work that you do, and for empowering young people, like me, to get involved and be a part of the change.
