David Brockway
David manages the Great Men project, and has had the opportunity to work with thousands of boys and young men, having discussion about what masculinity and "being a man" means to them.
David works for the Good Lad Initiative, an organisation which aims to promote “Positive Masculinity”, and in doing so, to enable men to deal with complex gender situations and become agents of positive change within their social circles and broader communities.
David believes that these sort of conversations should be part of mainstream education and wants all young people to have the opportunity to learn about the gender stereotypes that impact them through discussion with both adults and peers.
Male privilege allowed me to ignore gender inequality most of my life, once I saw it was there, I wanted all other men to see it too.
