It is an honour to be able to contribute to a community that not only educates women in conflict, but also promotes a craft that would otherwise be lost over time. I have always been inspired by such an organisation and it is a pleasure to give back in any capacity.
About Jade Lai
Creative Director Jade Lai was born in Hong Kong and later moved to Los Angeles, where she studied architecture. During this time she also became interested in the retail market and discovered what she found to be a lack of niche, independent boutiques. She opened Creatures of Comfort, a multi-brand shop with this concept in mind, and brought to the West Coast a curated mix of hard to find designers. She later relocated to New York and opened a flagship in the Soho neighbourhood, quickly expanding her mix of loyal customers and gaining a cult following among artists, musicians, and other designers.
Focusing on high-end textiles and a subtle but wearable design ethos, the Creatures of Comfort brand has evolved into a full lifestyle brand including apparel, bags, shoes, and accessories, all meant to become mainstays in a woman's wardrobe.
