A conversation about women's rights in Afghanistan

Two years, countless decrees. Where are women's rights in Afghanistan now?

In August 2023 we hosted a webinar with journalist and Women for Women International - UK Ambassador Tina Daheley, Women for Women International Programme Coordinator Storai Ahmadi, and journalist Jane Ferguson. Audience joined us for a conversation about women's rights in Afghanistan, two years after the takeover of Kabul in August 2021.

Since the de facto government took control of Afghanistan, women have faced harsh restrictions that infringe on their rights and freedoms, including limitations on work, education, clothing and travel.

We explored the questions: How are women coping with these restrictions and how can the international community amplify the voices of Afghan women?
