Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon

Women for Women International is thrilled to announce we have one more place to fill in the Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon, which will take place on 3rd October 2021. This year's London Marathon is set to be the world’s first 100,000-person marathon, with 50,000 participants in a virtual event around the globe joining 50,000 on the traditional course from Blackheath to The Mall.

Whether you cross the finish line at the Mall or at your local park, all participants will receive an official London Marathon t-shirt and the much-coveted finishers medal!

As part of our #SheInspiresMe Squad you will receive a special welcome pack with Women for Women International goodies and our team will be on hands to support your fundraising. Most importantly, you'll join a community of runners united by a passion for women’s rights! 

Funds raised by our #SheInspiresMeSquad will support our work helping women survivors of war to rebuild their lives and inspire hope for the future. We ask all runners taking a virtual London Marathon place to commit to raising at least £528 – the equivalent to sponsoring two women survivors of war through our Stronger Women, Stronger Nations programme. 

After the race, we will match you with a ‘sister’ so you can see the impact of your fundraising first-hand. The remainder of your fundraising will support our wider programmes - from providing women with basic literacy and numeracy training, to producing radio broadcasts which share vital health information with women in remote and isolated communities.
