Change Agents in Nigeria

Meeting the brave women creating change in their communities

For women whose lives have been most affected by violent conflict, peace is not just an aspirational ideal, but a series of urgent, practical goals that they are working hard to make a reality.

On my last trip to northern Nigeria, I was lucky enough to meet some of our Change Agents. They shared how women can tackle social injustice and their essential role in peacebuilding.

Amplifying Marginalised Women’s Voices At The Global Level

Along with members of our Global Advocacy Team, I travelled to New York to represent Women for Women International at the first UN Summit on the Sustainable Development Goals (also known as the Global Goals) since their adoption in September 2015.

Watch my IGTV below where I discuss the importance of the Global Goals and our commitment to promoting sustainable change.

Meeting Amela in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Celebrating the power of shared connections

Ten years ago, I sponsored my first 'sister' through our year-long training programme.

In 2018, I travelled to Bosnia and Herzegovina where I met Amela for the first time. This year, we met again to make an incredible film that I can't wait to share with you – please watch this space!
