Statement on Israel-Palestine War

11th October, 2023

We are horrified by the atrocities on women and their families in the Israel-Palestine war. We are mourning all the lives lost. We grieve the brutal massacre of civilians in Israel and we fear for the safety of the hostages. Also, we grieve the impact of the bombings on civilians, including women and children trapped in Gaza.

We know that in war, it is women and children who suffer most. As a non-partisan organisation working with women survivors of war for thirty years, we hold tightly to the principle of serving those who need our support the most.

We are assessing gaps in the humanitarian response to determine if there are ways we can support women to overcome the trauma of this escalation of a decades long conflict. If we do so, it will be driven by the power of women survivors of conflict coming together to rebuild for peace.

Our hearts are with our Israeli and Palestinian sisters and their families.
