Supporter Spotlight: Centrica Women's Network🌟
Throughout 2025, Centrica Women’s Network hosted a remarkable series of events, raising an astounding £4,000 to help women survivors of war rebuild their lives.
From engaging virtual bingo and Lunch & Learn sessions to a murder mystery lunch, and even taking on half marathons, these activities not only raised an incredible £4,000 but demonstrated the power of women coming together and supporting one another, a true testament to the strength of sisterhood.
We spoke to Agata, who led the fundraising efforts, about the experience and what inspired the Network to take on these challenges.
Here’s what she had to say:

This year, I had the incredible opportunity to lead the Centrica Women’s Network fundraising efforts for Women for Women International, and it has been such a rewarding experience. I wanted to make sure there was something for everyone, so we organised a mix of activities; from virtual bingo sessions and Lunch & Learn talks on workplace wellbeing, to a murder mystery lunch, networking walks, volunteering at the Selfridges Car Boot Sale and even running the Richmond Half Marathon.
We were inspired by the chance to support a cause that felt relevant and strives to make a tangible difference. Women for Women International felt like the best fit, particularly with ongoing crises in countries like Ukraine and Afghanistan where many women are facing unimaginable challenges. While we are fortunate to live in a safe country, we wanted to help women rebuild their lives, gain skills and find hope in the most difficult circumstances.
Supporting Women for Women International allows us to make a tangible difference by helping women rebuild their lives, gain skills and find hope in the most difficult circumstances.
The events were such a joy to be part of, and seeing everyone get involved was truly inspiring. The virtual bingo sessions were full of laughter and friendly competition, while the Lunch & Learn talks sparked thoughtful discussions and shared learning. Our murder mystery lunch was bursting with energy and fun, and the networking walk was a beautiful way to connect with colleagues on a sunny day. Volunteering at the Car Boot Sale and taking on the half marathon pushed us physically and mentally, but the sense of achievement and knowing we were making a difference made every challenge worth it.
The events not only exceeded our fundraising target but also strengthened connections and created memorable experiences for everyone involved.

The most powerful part for me was seeing everyone come together, all united by the same goal. It really showed me the strength of women supporting women, and what we can achieve when we lift each other up. Of course, there were challenges. Running the half marathon was tough, but whenever I felt tired, I thought about the women we are supporting and how small my challenge is compared to what they face. That thought kept me going.
Would I do it all again? Absolutely! I’d love to host more events and bring even more people together. My advice to anyone considering a similar fundraiser is to plan carefully, don’t overload the calendar and be mindful of other company activities, but most importantly, have fun!
I’ve already recommended fundraising for Women for Women International to friends and family. It’s such a meaningful cause, and along the way, we got to socialise, learn and share experiences, all while making a real difference for women survivors of war.
It’s such an amazing cause, plus we did so much socialising and had so much fun along the way!
From all of us at Women for Women International, a huge thank you to everyone at Centrica Women’s Network for your support and generosity throughout 2025. Your funds will help women survivors of war rebuild their lives, gain skills and find hope, and we are so grateful that you’ve made this possible.
