About the Event

Women for Women International - UK were  privileged to present a special online auction, with the support of Harper’s Bazaar UK and Paddle8, featuring works by 15 leading international female artists. Curated by Women for Women International - UK Trustee, Hikari Yokoyama, proceeds from the auction will directly benefit Women for Women International’s work supporting women survivors of war.

Each piece of art was specially commissioned in order to support this benefit auction. We are thankful to all the artists who are so generously supporting this project: Etel Adnan, Katherine Bernhardt, Agnieszka Brzeżańska, Virginia Chihota, Rachel Feinstein, Chantal Joffe, Sarah Morris, Cornelia Parker, Celia Paul, Taryn Simon, Caragh Thuring, Julie Verhoeven, Rebecca Ward, Carrie Mae Weems and Unskilled Worker.

Supporting the Auction

Through the support of Paddle8, an online auction platform, art enthusiasts across the world have the opportunity to add timeless pieces to their collection, whilst supporting women who live in some of the world's most dangerous places.

Hikari Yokoyama, in partnership with Harper's Bazaar UK, invited the artists to contribute specially curated pieces of art to the auction. We are so grateful for her support as without her this event would not be possible.

“Women’s empowerment remains key to solving many of the big, overwhelming problems confronting our globalised world – how can society progress when one half of the population does not have the same rights, licence and voice simply due to their gender? It’s a mission and a responsibility that we, as women today, must continue to honour.”

Hikari Yokoyama, Trustee for Women for Women International - UK
