Celebrating Ten Years of Sisterhood

Our long-standing partnership with Monica Vinader is so much more than a financial commitment.

It sends a powerful message to women survivors of war that says: I stand with you, you are not alone. Since 2015, our partnership with Monica Vinader has helped over 420 women (and counting!) reach their full potential through our Stronger Women, Stronger Nations programme across the countries we work in.

It started with a friendship bracelet

Our journey with Monica Vinader started in 2015 when together we launched the #SheInspiresMe Friendship bracelet, with 100% of sales being donated to our work. Since then, we’ve hosted sisterhood chats with founder Monica Vinader, staff challenges, and worked on four more product collaborations, including this year’s Sisterhood pendant – all in support of women affected by conflict.

For the past ten years, it has been an honour to support the important mission of Women for Women International as both a brand partner and personally as an Ambassador.

Throughout the partnership, we have donated over £200,000 to help women reach their full potential and create a ripple effect of change in their communities. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.

Monica Vinader’s Impact

For a decade, Monica Vinader has invested in women’s power – creating a ripple effect of change in their communities. Their support has helped women:

Become economically independent

Monica Vinader's support has helped women learn a marketable job skill and business training to turn their chosen skills into a stable income. This gives women economic independence and the ability to support themselves and their families.

Advocate for their rights

Monica Vinader has provided women with knowledge about their rights on key issues like voting, land ownership, divorce and domestic abuse. This gives women the confidence to challenge and transform attitudes to their rights and bring long-lasting changes for themselves and future generations.

Care for their mental and physical wellbeing

Monica Vinader's commitment has helped women learn about their reproductive health, how to manage post-traumatic stress, and the importance of good hygiene and nutrition. If women aren't physically and mentally healthy, how can they be expected to thrive and contribute to their community?

Form valuable friendships

Providing women with a safe space to learn in a classroom with 24 other women, connect with other survivors of war, and form valuable friendships breaks the isolation caused by war. Many women event go on to form cooperatives with their peers to support their communities.

Together we’ve stood by women like Euphrasie in Rwanda, whose hope and confidence was restored by meeting other women like her in the programme. Through the business training session, she learned beadwork, and is now a successful beadmaker who teaches other women how to run their own business.

You can share your experiences with another woman, she can share her experiences with you, and you feel like you are not suffering alone and there is a way to get out of it.

Monica Vinader’s ongoing support has been crucial in helping us adapt in an everchanging and increasingly volatile world. Long term funding means we can respond wherever we’re needed in ongoing conflicts like Afghanistan and Ukraine. Your commitment has also enabled us to launch our new Adolescent Girls Programme which supports teenage girls and their very unique needs in conflict.
