HELP WOMEN UNLOCK THEIR POTENTIAL

starting from £12 a month

For many in the UK, September is back-to-school: a month filled with the crisp scent of new notebooks, the rustle of uniforms and the excitement of new beginnings. Whatever stage of life we’re in, we remember the joy of reuniting with friends, the thrill of stepping into a classroom and the possibilities that education creates.

But for far too many women and girls around the world, this simple joy – and opportunity – is out of reach. The effects of this last a lifetime, limiting women’s agency over their own lives and their ability to participate in the workforce.

This back-to-school season, you can help us enrol classrooms of women in our Stronger Women, Stronger Nations programme, where they learn about their rights, health and income-generating skills – the fundamentals to rebuild their lives on solid ground.

September marks a new beginning for many as students around the world return to school. The fresh scent of new notebooks, the anticipation of learning, and the joy of reuniting with friends are moments cherished by many. But for countless women and girls living in conflict zones, this simple joy is unattainable.

Amina

subtitle:

In Afghanistan, Amina* dares to stand up for women’s rights. Women have been virtually erased from public life over the past two years: banned from parks, gyms, restaurants, most jobs and education. Opposing these restrictions is incredibly dangerous, but Amina dares to keep teaching in our training centre. She braves the constant scrutiny of government authorities and she dares to spread the word that education should be the right of every woman and girl.
