Frida Kahlo in Flowers

#SheInspiresMe Auction 2018

Frida Kahlo in Flowers is an interactive art sculpture that was designed exclusively for the V&A for their exhibition entitled ‘Frida Kahlo: Making Herself Up’.

Standing at just over 2 metres tall, the sculpture combines stunning metal artistry with delicate and masterful floristry. Hundreds of silk flowers, including zinnias, peonies, dahlias, hydrangeas, garden roses and poppies have been used to create a sensational headpiece that sits atop of a minimalist metal representation of Frida Kahlo.

Positioned in the museum’s central courtyard, the sculpture became an iconic structure and much loved piece over a period of six months. A stunning homage to an icon, this art piece is perfect for art lovers and Frida enthusiasts.

The piece can be kept both indoors or outdoors and requires very little maintenance.

This lot will close in our Live Auction and online bidding will close at 12pm on 19th November 2018. Please contact rclarke@womenforwomen.org if you wish to participate in the Live Auction.
